Sketchbook experiments in organic, homegrown, sustainable and regenerative art practices

I’ve added some of my sketchbook pages to the art section here on my website so you can have a virtual browse of my organic artwork experiments.  Some of these pieces, made with the organic inks/dyes/paints that I’ve made from flowers, trees and other plants have turned into completed projects (see Onederland), and there are still favourites in my sketchbooks I’ve yet to explore and expand into projects to add to my creative collections.

regenerative, sustainable art: sketchbook pages

I’m a big fan of books, especially artists’ books. There’s something quiet about them: they don’t need a wall space, you have to touch and hold them and turn each page to discover something new.   There’s a secrecy about them too, they don’t shout, they just say ‘come and be with me’.

regenerative art: organic, home grown ink & chalk on cotton rag paper

I try my best not to express my frustration (in pubic, at least) about the ways our Mother Gaia has been mistreated by man in the name of profit, causing harm to all who dwell within her. Instead, my wish is to celebrate the sacredness of her, the wisdom of her and above all, her natural propensity for abundance.  The sacred feminine revered, honoured. She does, after all, create everything for us.  If left unsprayed, undisturbed, we would see the abundance she provides. She is the greatest creator, our Mother, our mothership.

I hope you enjoy browsing through the sketchbook pages I’ve chosen to share with you. There will be more work available in the shop soon!

Do sign up for my newsletters if you’d be interested in seeing new work as it becomes available.
