What’s true..?

Art

What came first - the blackberry or the apple..? Yin-yang and the true nature of duality-non-duality. Circular artwork on organic, cotton rag paper with home-grown eco dyes

You may or may not have gathered from the title of my website that both the hand reading (psycho)analyst and the artist in me are here in search of deeper meaning in this life.

I’ve always been interested in what comes after and what came before life in this body. I’ve never  felt quite convinced that the body’s death is ‘the end’.  I’ve had my own out-of-this-world experiences where the seemingly most banal of my sleeping dreams have manifest into my reality, and when such magic was mentioned to the disbelievers, I’ve been laughed at.

The ideas of the alternative minds have often been berated and dismissed.  It seems to have been the way of our western world for some time.  We’re increasingly at the mercy of a rational left-brain education, leaving behind in so many cases the right-brain creative, intuitive, sensitive side of ourselves, and with that the opportunity to explore the more meaningful and magical (in my opinion!) side of life here on our mother ship.

The world is changing so fast now and with it, our own understandings and mis-understandings of who we truly are, what humanity’s true origins are, what’s real and what’s artifice, what’s truth or lies - they’re all becoming increasingly questioned, exposed.

In this past year or so I’ve discovered the existence of the Sumerians in our ancient past, and had many an interesting conversation with ‘alternative’ friends about them and their place in our origins.  I’ve found it to be fascinating, mind-bending!  Somehow they weren’t mentioned in our history lessons at Diss Grammar school.  We studied the so-called merits of the industrial revolution.  While I loved our history teacher, I found this version of history somewhat soporific.

The existence of the likes of the Sumerian races raises even more questions for me about our history, our true nature, even the very nature of the meaning of the word ‘his-story’.  Not to mention certain agendas that appear to be present in the current education system.  I understand that more and more parents are removing their children from mainstream schools now, which I find encouraging.

Our world is being turned upside-down.  I’ve a feeling we’re about to discover so much more about ourselves and what consciousness truly is, and this is a fascinating time to be here, being exposed to more history mysteries.

I’d like to write more about these ideas but for now, because I find so much of it ineffable, I’ll continue to make art about it in close connection to nature.  Because maintaining a close relationship with Mother Nature’s wisdom is where I’ve found my most profound learnings.

Perhaps we’ve been worshipping in the wrong direction.  Perhaps, rather than looking to the skies for that white man with the long white beard, we ought to be worshipping that which is beneath our feet:

The mother of all creation, she who provides us with every-thing - the humble, the feminine, our Mother Earth, Nature, Gaia, Sophia.  Perhaps within her cycles is where true wisdom lies.
